Delete your Mi Rodada account
This page explains how to request the deletion of a Mi Rodada account (the app to organize group motorcycle rides, on Google Play and at mirodada.com) and which data is deleted.
This is a translation for convenience. The Spanish version is the one that applies.
How to request it
There are two ways. Either one works, with or without the app installed:
- From the app or from mirodada.com: sign in → Perfil (Profile) → Eliminar cuenta (Delete account). The app asks you to confirm and sends an email.
- By email, without opening the app: write to contacto@mirodada.com from the account's email address, with the subject "Eliminar mi cuenta" (Delete my account). We reply confirming the request.
For the following 30 days the account keeps working as usual, in case the person changes their mind (just sign in again and cancel the deletion). After that period it is permanently deleted.
What is deleted
The profile (name, email, phone number, ID number, photo, emergency contact and blood type), the documents and photos (driver's license, vehicle, SOAT insurance, technical inspection), the vehicles, the Google sign-in and the sessions.
What is kept for some time, and why
Some data cannot be deleted right away because there is a legal or safety duty to keep it (Colombian Decree 1377 of 2013, art. 11). In that data, the name is replaced («Motero retirado», retired rider) or reduced to the minimum needed:
- Ride records and summaries of the group: kept without the name.
- Road reports and signs the person added: kept for everyone, without an author; their votes are deleted.
- SOS alerts, incidents and the audit log (approvals, rejections): 3 years from the event, or longer if there is a complaint, a legal process or an authority request in progress.
- Payment records: 10 years, as required by accounting and tax rules.
- Proof of acceptance of the terms and the privacy policy: up to 3 years, to be able to prove it.
- Backups: they disappear on their own within 30 days at most.
- If there is an open case about the person (for example, a report by a group leader or an authority request): only their name, ID number and phone number are kept, until the case's term ends.
